Hey guys so.... Where should I begin...with My experience so far in this class
it has been good. We have been able to learn a bit from each other during the first class, which is pretty nice since thy are online. The projects that were presented gave us a lot of background information about what speech class is focused on. And there is so much for us to learn in this class that we would never think of. And we should continue with this blog.
I don't know where to begin for writing this blog I am very intrigued because I never thought that I could write 1000 words there is a lot to talk about but not many words. The The words don't come so easily to me I haven't always been the best with writing and I really hope that this helps me with that. I have had other speech classes prior to this one which have gone amazing.
And with that being said I think it's about time we start talking about these projects. We had about a week to complete them and is focused on teamwork You had to read about your chapters That you were assigned You could either do a little summary to present to the class for those chapters or you can go into more details make certain points they belong to those chapters and everybody in their groups have cooperated so well to bring the project to life They didn't make it boring they didn't make us feel like we're lost in the crowd they made us feel connected to what they were explaining they had very strong points for their topics which made it way easier to understand since there's so many factors that are in speech and communication.
like finding out different ways that we could communicate for example I had to write about different types of speeches like poets, after dinner speech, nomination speech These are all things that you wouldn't think too much about , Usually people who make this type of Speech have so many emotions connected to it is not just them talking no they try to connect to the crowd try to make them feel Honored to hear what they were saying.
I feel like all the projects individually have had an Amazing teamwork process which not everybody can do. My team especially we would message each other we had questions we would help each other on slides if we needed it and I feel like that is very important when working in groups. I don't have many words to say about the projects besides the fact that we have learned so much from all these groups if I could go into detail I would
lets talk about how Group One, They had very important topics to talk about like plagiarism which is very hard to deal with nowadays because we have Chat GPT many people are like oh that's easy I'll just copy whatever it tells me Which it cannot be the case for most things if you're writing an essay yes you can ask me to give you some examples of what you could write but is not for you to copy exactly what it tells you Another key topic that they talked about was
Some other things they talked about was organization and outline This is very important for speeches it's kind of like essay you have a hook you have to make the audience want to know more make them intrigued give them a little fun fact Because if you start off with something bad like Everybody knows this fact no they're not going to be intrigued about it Because they might not know make them a fun fact did you know that blah blah blah This is very important Make them want to know more Make them intrigued about what you're talking make them want to listen to every little detail you're saying and it's also very important that you stay on topic because if I go up there and I have to be talking about climate change and then I go off and talk about shopping that has nothing to do with what I went on stage to talk to the audience for making sure you stay on topic for what you went to do is very important Have on a piece of paper your speech having memorized and you forget that's OK you can go back and read the sentence that you forgot but try to be present try not have to read off the paper if it's a lot I completely understand but it's important to have that communication with the audience and not be staring at a piece of paper make it feel like it's coming from your heart And that is my opinion and I feel like Group One did an amazing job with presenting these ideas if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have this to go off of and make all these details.
I wanna talk a little bit about group 1 and Personally I was on Group 4 which I think we did pretty good to be honest not because it's my group but probably the best group in my eyes at least we did try really hard to make it work But anyways like I said let's talk about group two and three. Like Group One they talked about communication corporate make sure you have professionalism when you're talking to your audience making sure they could understand you on a professional level don't use slangs that you would with your friends because they're not going to respect you and as as a professional awesome I also learned that Making sure that you don't let your emotion take over when speaking if someone make a comment about what you're talking and you disagree with them and it made you upset don't show that emotion but OK I see your points I understand we have different opinions on this topic Don't let your motion take over your speech It is also very important which I learned with this group to make sure you're listening because you can be looking at the speaker but you're not really listening to what they're talking about you're not connecting with it Try to understand it on a more personal level to make them feel heard and respected
And this basically sums up how I felt about the projects that were presented and I hope you feel the same way as me and if you don't it's totally OK everybody has your own opinion and as long as you get to express yourself that's all that matters and thank you for hearing my taughts.
Great!! Just what I wanted you to write and publish!
